On November 26, 2012, teens attended, and reported on, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Dr. Heath Morrison's 100th Day event and strategies to move CMS forward.
They used the event to compare roles of government and leaders, prioritize school district issues, analyze communication styles, write and predict media headlines, and more. In partnership with CMS, GenerationNation students had the opportunty to participate as student reporters, interviewing guests, having special event access, and even grilling the superintendent in a press conference. Using social media, students reported and shared their opinions about the event and CMS goals for the future.
